Technical Tricks
Using Multiple Images
Some of the most professional sellers shows images in the ad between texts. This allows for a more appealing item listing. Lets see how its done on eBay.
I recommend using Firefox for these example.
CASE STUDY 1 - Pictures from the internet
Say there is an image that we want to use in our item description.
First we need to know where the image is.
For the example let us use the following page:
www.salesberg.com/tutorials/test.html
On the picture you can right click and select show picture.
And then select all, copy and paste to your desired location.
This way you can paste as many images from the web to your item listings as you wish. All you have to do is decide on a picture you want to show, then right click on it.
Caution : If images are used from the Internet like this, the owner of the image may disagree to that. Also, if the image from the original location is moved, the link will be broken.
Case Study 2 - Private Servers
For this case study you may need a FTP client software, like Filezilla.
If you sign up for your own server or if you already have one. the procedure is very similar to above. All you have to do is upload your own product images via FTP to your server.
Then browse to the location of the image where you uploaded the image.
Examples :
If the files were uploaded to a folder name 'product_images'
The address for the location will be www.your-domain-name.com/product_images/
Or if you do not have your own domain name (it is recommended to have one) but just an online hosting space the address can be with just ip address:
http://101.101.101.105/product_images/
Often the internet providers provide some free hosting space. In that case the address can be something like:
http://the address the isp allocated to you/product_images/
There can be some other veriences too, but the idea is alwyas similar.
Once you have typed the address of the server type the names of the files you uploaded and the images will appear.
